This is a new Class Option for 4/5s for our 2024-2025 School Year!
Class Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Class Time: 12:45-3:15pm
Tuition – $2050* per year
In our 4/5’s class the focus is on child initiated themes and activities while ensuring that standards are met in accordance with NYS Early Learning Guidelines. The 4/5’s continue their work with gross motor skills, and fine motor skills, with a focus on preparing for writing. The 4/5’s class works on letter recognition and phonemic awareness, numbers 1 -20, calendar, and weather. They also review colors, days of the week, and do more in depth crafts, activities, and lessons. Since this class meets more frequently, the teacher is able to dedicate more time on topics that the children are interested in and provides more learning time in the classroom for families who are looking for that option.
There are no required Parent Helper Days in the classroom for this program, only our basic Cooperative commitment of Classroom jobs or Board commitment.
Child must be 4 years old by December 1st, 2024.
Sample Daily Schedule
12:45-1:00 Arrival welcome, Question of the Day, find your name and sign in, wash hands, open play such as books and play dough
1:00-1:20 Greeting Circle and language development: pledge of allegiance, show and tell and Jolly Phonics
1:20-2:35 Investigate, Communicate, Explore (I.C.E.) Time: learning centers, such as math, language, science, books, dramatic center, fine motor, project, free flow snack table, bathroom breaks, and hand washing
2:35-2:50 Math Circle: math concept, 100 day chart, calendar, weather, sharing and discussion about the afternoon
2:50-3:05 Large Muscle Movement/Outside: dance, yoga, cooperative games, music
3:05-3:15 Dismissal
Tours for the 2024-2025 school year will begin in November 2023.
