Heather Lincourt – Lead Teacher
Heather is thrilled to be a part of Perinton Nursery School and looks forward to sharing in your child’s education. With over 30 years of extensive experience working with young children, she has dedicated her life to Early Childhood Education. Heather owned and operated seven child care centers in the Toronto area and, after 14 years, she sold her business to return to what she loves the most – teaching children! Heather was a Kindergarten teacher for 4 years. While working for the Niagara District Board of Education she received extensive training in a Reggio Emilia based emergent curriculum. She is energetic, enthusiastic and very passionate about teaching. Heather enjoys providing opportunities for children to learn and grow in a play based environment. Heather moved to Rochester from Crystal Beach, Ontario, Canada, when she married her husband several years ago. Together they have six grown children and feel blessed to have four grandchildren living close so that they are able to spend most weekends with them. She looks forward to an exciting year filled with the wonders of learning with your children!

Carrie Riordan – Assistant Teacher
Carrie Riordan has lived in Fairport since 2009, setting down roots with her husband and two daughters, both of whom attended Perinton Nursery School. Carrie has been involved with Perinton Nursery School in every capacity – as a parent, as well as holding different PNS board positions ranging from registrar to co-chair. She is excited to share her love of the school and its community by being in the classroom. Carrie loves working with young children, celebrating with them as they discover new things and encouraging growth with excitement through experiences in and out of the classroom. Carrie has worked with children through day camps she has co-led, as an afterschool counselor and day camp counselor, and the hours spent as a volunteer in the classroom at PNS. Carrie is loving, caring, and patient with people of all ages. Carrie is excited to work with Mrs. Heather and the students in a wonderful, Reggio environment.
Sarah Besig – Assistant Teacher
We are happy to announce the hiring of Sarah Besig as our afternoon assistant teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Sarah’s son is a PNS 2023-2024 graduate and is off to Kindergarten this year. Sarah has been on the school board as a fundraiser coordinator for the past two years. She longed to be a teacher and did some substitute teaching in at PNS in past and was excited when the opportunity for an assistant teacher opened up this year. Sarah has experience teaching and playing with kids. She has worked in another field helping others with different disabilities, disorders and behaviors to become independent.
Board of Directors
As a cooperative, PNS is run by a Board of Directors made up of the parents of our current students. All families enrolled in the school are required to participate in the running of the school, whether it’s as a member of the Board, a Committee Coordinator, or assisting in the classroom.
