Kim Carr – Lead Teacher

Kim Carr is so excited to join the staff at Perinton Nursery school and looks forward to making your child’s educational experience a positive and memorable one! Kim has 28 years of experience in the public school system as a teaching assistant with experience in UPK, kindergarten and first grade, as well as being a part of the Response to Intervention team. The RtI team involved helping young learners who struggled with math and reading skills. Kim grew up in the Southern Tier where she taught at her hometown school district for 22 years before moving to the area in 2017. Since her move, she has subbed in several local school districts and most recently spent the last 4 years in kindergarten and UPK as a teaching assistant. Throughout Kim’s years of teaching, she has been complimented for showing tremendous initiative and being very intuitive to the needs of her students, as well as having a positive attitude and a wonderful rapport with her students and their families.<\/p>\n

Kim and her husband have been blessed with two grown married children and two grand doggies. When not focused on school Kim can be found cooking and baking in her kitchen or reading a good book!\u00a0 With Kim’s strong understanding of child development she looks forward to engaging your children in a loving and supportive way, by learning through a play-based, stimulating educational\u00a0 environment.<\/p>\n

Carrie Riordan – Assistant Teacher<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carrie Riordan has lived in Fairport since 2009, setting down roots with her husband and two daughters<\/span>, both of whom attended Perinton Nursery School. Carrie has been involved with Perinton Nursery School in every capacity – as a parent, as well as holding different PNS board <\/span>positions<\/span>\u00a0ranging from registrar to co-chair. She is excited to share her love of the school and it<\/span>s community by being in the classroom. Carrie loves working with young children<\/span>, celebrating with them as they discover new things and <\/span>encouraging\u00a0<\/span>grow<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0with excitement<\/span>\u00a0through experiences in and out of the classroom. Carrie has\u00a0<\/span>work<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0with children through day camps she has co-<\/span>led<\/span>, as an afterschool counselor and <\/span><\/span>day camp counselor,\u00a0<\/span>and the hours spent\u00a0<\/span>as a volunteer<\/span>\u00a0in the classroom at PNS. Carrie is loving, caring, and\u00a0<\/span>patient with people of all ages. Carrie<\/span> is excited to work with Mrs. Kim and the students in <\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>wonderful,<\/span>\u00a0Reggio<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>environment.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah<\/strong> Besig – Assistant Teacher<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\" We are happy to announce the hiring of Sarah Besig as our afternoon assistant teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.\u00a0 Sarah’s son is a PNS 2023-2024 graduate and is off to Kindergarten this year. Sarah has been on the school board as a fundraiser coordinator for the past two years. She longed to be a teacher and did some substitute teaching in\u00a0 at PNS in past and was excited when the opportunity for an assistant teacher opened up this year. Sarah has experience teaching and playing with kids. She has worked in another field helping others with different disabilities, disorders and behaviors to become independent.<\/p>\n

Board of Directors

As a cooperative, PNS is run by a Board of Directors made up of the parents of our current students. All families enrolled in the school are required to participate in the running of the school, whether it’s as a member of the Board, a Committee Coordinator, or assisting in the classroom. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
