Sample Daily Routine

For the 3-year-olds:

  • Transitional Activity (as children arrive): making birthday cards if it is someone's birthday; looking at books
  • Center Time: children choose from center based activities including pretend, art, music, big room and more
  • Clean Up
  • Snack Time: nutritious snack provided by helping child and family
  • Circle Time: the teacher reads a book that pertains to a current topic, then introduces a related craft or activity
  • Craft: each table of 4-6 children has an adult to help
  • Calendar and Weather Observation (see specific examples)
  • Small & Large Group Activities: songs, poems, finger plays and more
  • Outdoor Playtime (if the weather cooperates): the playground also includes a small sledding hill for snowy days!

For the 4-year-olds:

  • Snack Time: nutritious snack provided by helping child and family
